🕯️ Light for Today:
Have you ever felt like your weakness disqualifies you from being used by God?
📖 Scripture:
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV)
🪔 Devotional (150–170 words):
James—Laura’s friend—was known for holding everything together: his family, his business, even his men’s Bible group. But after a health scare left him sidelined, he felt powerless. For the first time, he couldn’t serve the way he used to. In the quiet, 2 Corinthians 12:9 came alive: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
James realized what many men struggle to admit—our weakness is not a liability in God’s hands. As John Calvin wrote in Institutes of the Christian Religion, “We are not fit for a single good work unless God’s grace goes before us.” James stopped trying to impress and started depending. That’s when true strength showed up—not from within, but from Christ living through him.
Brother, don’t hide your weakness—bring it to God. His power is perfected not in your strength, but in your surrender.
🙏 Bible Vibrance Prayer:
Lord, remind us that Your grace is always enough. Make Your power visible in our weakness. Amen.
