Do you ever feel like you’re barely surviving when God says you’re more than a conqueror?

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV)

Jessica—Charlie’s friend—was facing the chaos of a crumbling business and a family crisis at once. Every morning felt like a new battle, and she often whispered, “God, I don’t know how to keep going.” One morning, she read Deuteronomy 31:6 and wept. “He will not leave you or forsake you.” That truth settled her anxious heart like a soft blanket of peace.
God wasn’t promising an escape—He was promising His presence. Jessica found strength not in her own ability, but in the One who stood with her in the fight. As Knowing God by J.I. Packer reminds us, “To know God is to have Him walk with you through fire, not around it.”
You, dear sister, are not abandoned. You are more than a conqueror—not because you feel strong, but because your Savior fights for you.
