Light for Today:
Can you still climb when the ground under you gives way?
“God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.” (Habakkuk 3:19, ESV)
Charlie’s friend David recently lost a major contract that had taken months to secure. Bills were due, pressure mounted, and discouragement pressed in. One morning, David stumbled on Habakkuk 3:19. The phrase “feet like the deer’s” stood out. Mountain deer don’t panic—they navigate cliffs with precision.
Why? Because they’ve been built for the climb. That’s exactly what God promises men of faith: strength for the ascent, even when life looks like a steep, dangerous slope. You may feel like you’re barely holding on, but God is not only holding you—He’s empowering your next step. The “high places” aren’t about success alone, but about victory through spiritual endurance. God doesn’t promise to flatten the path, but to stabilize your footing. If you’re slipping today, stop relying on your strength and lean into His. Trust the One who equips your steps.
Bible Vibrance Q.:
Where in your life do you feel like you’re slipping, and need God to steady your next step?
Bible Vibrance Prayer:
Lord, You are my strength. Help me trust You when I feel weak or unstable. Make my steps firm and steady as I climb. Thank You for lifting me higher. Amen.
